Si riunisce a Berlino a fine giugno il TRIBUNALE RUSSELL, lo stesso che denunciò i Crimini di Guerra nel Vietnam nel 1966, con accusatori tra gli altri Noam Chomsky e Jean Paul Sartre. Ora è la Psichiatria sotto accusa, per VIOLAZIONE DEI DIRITTI UMANI IN PSICHIATRIA.

Il tribunale si riunisce in tre sessioni, dopo quella che si sta per tenere ora a Berlino dal 30 giugno al 2 luglio 001, si riunirà gli anni prossimi a New York e Gerusalemme dove sarà compilato il verdetto. In tutte e tre le sessioni saranno ascoltati testimoni ed esperti. A Berlino in particolare "saranno messe a fuoco le posizioni storiche della Psichiatria e le leggi, la legislazione sulla Salute Mentale e la dichiarazione dei diritti dell'uomo Onu, come anche le operazioni di censura e stigmatizzazione."
Tra i firmatari della convocazione ci sono alcuni survivors, tra cui David Oakes direttore di SCI International. L'atto d'accusa è redatto da Thomas Szasz e George Alexander
e lo tradurremo integralmente a breve.

at the Free University Berlin, Germany, from June 29 to July 2, 2001
We seek persons victimized by psychiatric coercion to give evidence about their experiences before the Fifth International Russell Tribunal on Human Rights in Psychiatry. The idea for the Russell Tribunal is based on the Vietnam War Crimes Tribunal of the sixties. The World Psychiatric Association has been invited to defend itself in Berlin 2001. We plan to continue the Fifth International Russell Tribunal on Human Rights in Psychiatry in New York and Jerusalem, in 2002 and 2003.
